Can someone explain internal laying for me?

Sorry for your loss. A necropsy may tell you what was wrong, but it would be too late at this time. I usually do a home necropsy on my hens that die, to open the abdomen and look for signs of what may have been going on. Sometimes I will see yellow fluid when opening the abdomen, and that is from liver problems secondary to reproductive disorders or fatty liver disease (have only seen one case.) I look at the liver, the spleen, intestines, gizzard, crop, oviduct and any other organ that might have an issue. It is good to take pictures to post here for opinions. Most state vets will do a more thorough necropsy with testing and lab cultures. Below is a vet necropsy where organs are identified, if you ever need to do one at home.

Thank you. I know necropsy would have been ideal. There would have been.no way I could bring myself to do it,. We had taken her to be cremated already, so it's too late. She was extremely special to me so when I lost her the grief took over.
Im just baffled over her symptoms because once she overcame the labored breathing and got the first egg out she was back to normal until her next round of eggs. Despite soft shells and her disability, she was strong, happy, and healthy. Being the bond we had and I being her legs I feel I have missed something obvious ( possible internal laying) that could have been helped if I had known. It would help with the closure and the knowledge for the future. Maybe there was nothing I could do, but it was just very baffling to me, cause I just couldn't connect her symptoms to anything I researched while she was still with me. And vets...... The closet one is over three hours away and still acted as if they didn't know much about chickens even though they are avian vets. On here is where I turned and was suggested to give her calcium and b complex which I did but didn't help. Since I was getting her through, I thought I would be able to continue on that way because she would always get back to her normal self.
Took a chance that maybe someone would see this and know what she was going through by knowledge and/or experiencing it.
It's hard not having her in my arms giving her around the clock care and love. I miss her dearly and wish her passing could have some closure and give me the knowledge to give someone else who may come across the same thing. If we would happen to cross paths.
