I have a bbr phoenix roo and a production red hen. There was a baby hatched from this cross that is now about 2 months old. The phoenix has slate colored legs and the pro red has white legs. Their offspring is red, with white legs and some black in the tail. My question is is their baby a male or female? I read somewhere that males take on the traits of the mother, so the white legs means positively male or could it still be female.
Only one egg hatched from this cross and I am hoping I can keep it, but only if it's going to lay eggs.
Thanks in advance to anyone giving any insight to my inquiry.
