Can someone start at the beginning with me?

This is my second go around with keets. My adult guinea is another thread for another time. We will deal with her later.
I’m feeding these babies game bird starter. Should I not be?
mare these wings normal ? Too much protein/not enough?
I don’t remember the other guinea wings looking like this last year. But last year I dealt with curled toes upon hatching so that may have been my focus.
These are, I believe two weeks old.
I live in Hot humid Alabama. The more I read on here the more clueless I feel. I saw someone talking about keeping their guinea pen wet- why? And ponds ? Do guineas think they are ducks? It’s no wonder my love guinea chicken wannA be mean guinea is the way she is. She lives with the clueless.

Game bird starter is good.

the wings looks normal to me, just in that awkward teenage phase.

I have no idea why anyone would keep a guinea pen wet, dont. They can get wet, get chilled and die.

my guineas hunt for bugs around the pond but that’s it, never go in it.

Guineas are dumb but they don’t think they’re ducks.

Game bird starter is the appropriate feed. I feed my keets a 28% protein turkey or game bird starter. Their wings are normal. When the feathers first grow in they are heavier than the muscles are accustomed to. They will grow out of this stage without any interference by you.

Keets need to be kept dry. Adult guineas can be okay with some water. My adults enjoy the overflow from my goldfish pond but they do hop over it and do not go wading in it.

Edited to add: maybe you were reading some of the posts where we discussed our guineas who keep frustrating me in crossing the street to get to a pond? They are free- ranging birds that likes the green edges of this pond in early spring, when everything else was still brown here. They do like drinking from our pond and hunting for bugs from the edge of our pond - one just pulled out a huge crayfish and was eating it on shore a few days ago! They don’t wade in it though.

thank you.I was worried how the wings stick out. I dont think it was your thread, though it could have been. Where someone said for you to put in a pond, and you already have one. But really It was about ants. Feeding ants to guineas ( I can only wish they were ant eaters!I did ask for an aardvark I hate ants). Someone said they had never seen ants in their guinea pen, but they keep their guinea pen too wet for ants to be in there.

I never see ants in my guinea pen. I water the area daily and it has lush growth. But I also water my garden well and I do have ants in the garden.

I cannot verify if the guineas are eating the ants or if it is just too wet for the ants. It could be either. There were ant hills in the area where the guinea pen is before the guineas were put in there.

I suggested the pond, but as everyone has clarified guineas do not swim in ponds. Mine even avoid walking in puddles. They just love to drink from the pond as a fresh water source away from their pen.

I can’t say mine eat ants either. I have ants in the yard and under rock around my gardens, but none in their coop. I only have flies occasionally in their coop during peak fly booms. That reminds me that it’s just about the time I need to set up my fly traps around the yard.
