Can someone turn off the snow...please??? *pics*

My kids have dug snowforts into the piles on both sides of our driveway lol. Everytime they come in for a few hours to defrost themselves, their forts fill back up! We are getting some gusting winds, but the 40-50 mile an hour ones must be at the end of the storm system, which won't hit us for another 5 hours or so.

I just got done shovelling the pathways to the chickens, 3rd time today. I am sure my paths will be half gone by morning. They already cancelled school for tomorrow. Hopefully hubby won't try to make it in. They have all the highways shut down, so maybe if they keep it that way, he won't be able to go lol.

I'm with ya! I am SOOOOOO tired of snow. I have said several times I am ready to move to Florida.

We have 2 1/2 feet of snow, it is STILL snowing, and we are supposed to get yet ANOTHER snowstorm late tomorrow (well today since it is 1:14 am) into Friday. Get a short break on Friday, and it all starts again on Saturday. Daughter has only gone to school 1 day in the last 2 weeks and that day had a 2 hour delay! The weather caused an electrical bus (whatever that is) to go out in the plant I work at so the plant had to close and I won't get to go back to work until (hopefully) midweek next week. I have a serious case of cabin fever!!!

I have done nothing but shovel that white stuff from Hades for the past week. I have shovelled my driveway, only to have the WVDOH fill it back up with their snowplows. My driveway runs parallel to the road so they don't just block my driveway, nooooo, they have to fill my ENTIRE driveway with their snow!

Then there is my neighbor that has cancer and a heart condition.....she just HAD to get out there and try to shovel her car out....I told her to get her butt back in the house and took over. She had no business getting out there and trying to shovel all that snow just to get her car out. After shovelling the driveway for the 3rd time in 2 days, I got smart....Got in the AWD vehicle, put it down in 1st gear, and packed that crap down!!!

I had fun with all the sliding too..

Until I got Orangie stuck sideways in the driveway.....stuck between an embankment and the chain link fence

Took me the better part of 4 hours to get it out...oh well..Wish spring would hurry up and get here!!!!!!!!

oh yeah, a word of warning for those shovelling snow around your mail box.....I was shovelling the snow from around my mailbox so the mailman would deliver my mail and accidently hit my knee with my shovel

(yeah, I'm an idiot) Now I don't have a snow shovel, I was shovelling with a square head shovel that has a 3 1/2 foot handle. Anyway, I hit my knee with the corner of the shovel. It hurt like #$^**^%$$^*())...you get the idea....I immediately switched my weight from my left leg to my right leg now knowing my right foot was on the edge of the embankment...the 7 foot high embankment that leads to a 2 foot deep ditch...My foot slipped and over the embankment I went...My shovel was the smart one...it stayed beside the mailbox

I now have a huge knot and black bruise on my kneecap. Moral of the story: Don't worry about getting mail when you have 2 1/2 feet of snow!

the drive to campus this morning is going to be delightful, particularly since they have apparently run out of funds for plowing or salting the roads, and pittsburgh is a pretty hilly city with lots of winding roads.

I detest my mailbox - if you can't get me online you're junk mail. lol. LMAO at the story sorry about your boo boo doodle ...hope its not too bad. Did you put ice I mean snow on it? LMAO

I am not shoveling anymore either. The dogs and I kinda wallowed a path thru the drifts to the coop last nite. The first trip thru I got rather winded and cold, toppling over into the snow and struggling to get back up. What a workout! I had visions of disappearing out there either out of breath or heart attack.

Then I had coffee and pizza for dinner that gave me indigestion so bad I KNEW I was having a heart attack. Till I got some baking soda in me and burped for 1/2 hour. I talked myself out of going back out till around 9:30pm to double check on warmth and make sure everyone was tucked in, I had my shovel in front of me, cutting down thru the bit in front a few times before I take the next step or two. And trying to stomp it down a bit. Its weird to be walking on top of that much snow. And going uphill (on these drifts) on a path that is normally flat.

Wondering now how long we'll have it. I'm guessing a good while! Everything seems otherworldly out there, barely recognizable. Almost lunar landscape like. Still windy and brrrrr. I dont need to go out to the coop at all this morning. But I know I will, I just cant go without seeing my feathered fluffies and get some rooster snuggles. Ok maybe I'll wait till 11 or so, giving the girls plenty of their own "me" time

a foot of snow was forecasted for yesterday, schools were canceled, offices closed and all of the standard prepare for the storm hooplah went down and the SNOW NEVER SHOWED


Alot of bummed out kids in ct I don't think we've gotton 6 inches total in Bristol all year

aww sorry to hear in ct. send them down this way, they can play with shovels in my driveway! lol I might make a snow fort or two with them out of what they pile ontop of piles.. hahah. hey, us snowed ppl: did you find yourself saying I cant shovel it that high anymore, I'll have to start a new pile? LMAO I did!

I'm gonna put on a big snowsuit and laydown and breakdance the worm move, out my front sidewalk to the drive
