Can the ducks play in a chlorinated pool?

My neighbor is going out of town for two weeks. I'm watering their plants for them, and they've given me free use of their pool. I'd love for the ducks to be able to swim, too, but will the chlorine hurt them?

Ducks in a chlorinated pool? Never.....

As in.....they’ll never want to get out.

would I put them in someone else’s pool? Nah. My own? Yeah... well, they’ve been in it once or twice........ today. Never been an issue for us. But I can’t say if it will work for everyone.

Since they're little bantams, they wouldn't overpoop it, but they've never experienced a chlorinated pool, so I'm worried about their little eyes and such.

I am going to disagree with you. I have Khaki Campbell’s which are also not very big. I started with two who used to sneak into my pool when I wasn’t looking. They immediately would poop when the got in. The chlorine in the pool kills the bacteria in the waste but it is used up in the process. I don’t mean that the water will turn brown with poo from them but it could turn green before your neighbor returns because of the nutrients their poop puts in the pool combined with low chlorine. Try this test, fill your bathtub with water and let them swim in it. See how much they really go.

My pool is actually a salt water pool. The only difference between the two is the source of the chlorine gas or free chlorine. In a regular pool you add sodium or calcium hypochlorite which is basically bleach. This comes apart and forms chlorine gas (Cl2) which kills the bacteria. In salt water pool you add salt, sodium chloride, then an electrical current is run through the water forming the chlorine gas. The amount of chlorine gas is similar in both. Salt water pools are also not nearly as salty as the ocean. My dog drinks some when he swims without any harm.
