I know chickens can have strawberries... but can they also have the greens at the top of the strawberry??? What about apple peels??? We are drying some fruit tonight and have a TON of scraps and I would LOVE to share them with the chicks tomorrow morning but only if it's safe

I don't know why but they pretty much seem to know if they can eat it or not. I want to plant some Morning Glories but an wary as to whether they will eat the seeds that fall in the fall.

think of chickens as delicate pigs....they can eat most anything and if they can't they will not. they are great. and they will see it as a wonderful treat. I give mine all kinds of scraps. when i tell ppl. this, they think of it as gross, but it isn't. they need to help break down things in their bodies like humans need things.
