Can they move to layer?

So my girls are about 14 weeks and I am guessing the starter feed I have now will last maybe 2 more weeks. Is it ok to switch them to layer feed or do I need to wait till they actually lay first? Also they have always had crumble feed, should I switch to pellets? Im trying to make this feed last until they can change to layer feed-free ranging as much as I can and lots of scraps (mostly vegs).

You can switch to layer when that bags done. Don't go overboard on the scraps, evenit's veggies, they shouldn't have more than a half tablespoon of non feed.

Some breeds don't lay till later. I typically recommend waiting until first egg or one egg from each breed.
