Can they reach their roost?

Been working alot lately on the coop and before I finish up I have a very important question.

Will they be able to reach the roost? It's going to be a 2x4 sideways mounted on the small blocks in the picture. However its roughly 28" off the floor. I wasn't sure if they could jump/fly up and how much room was required. Really hoping this is going to work lol.

They will reach it fine. My personal rule of thumb though is anything over 18" high needs a ramp. The problem high things is that it will require big jumps down (not great for the birds) and some flapping or flying to get up. Flapping wings in a coop is not ideal as dust goes everywhere!

Thanks for the reply I will see if I can ramp it after I get all the sides up and trimmed out.
