I’ve hatched chicks twice and all it did was make me worry and sad and overwhelmed. I will never do it again. I gave away my incubator and I don’t let my hens go broody.

I’m so sorry, decapitating can be really tough on you, my local wildlife people even have emotional trouble with that one and they unfortunately have to euthanize a number of animals; you’re not alone in that. It almost sounds as if his tendons weren’t formed quite right, not something you could change.

First cull .... I forgot Chickens move afte beheading. I was not emotionally prepared for it At all.

It's not easy...but Kudos for doing the right thing.
