The beak looks pretty bad. I believe there is a good chance that the chick will be able to eat. If he/she is with other chicks it will need a little help. It won't be able to compete with the others for food, most likely, so watch to see that is getting a chance at the feed.

Maybe separate him a few times a day to feed him. He may learn as he grows to deal with this challenge. I always say life will find a way. Good luck!

new at hatching chickens but lucky at animal rehab...had a person a few years bring me a couple goose babies that hatched and one had the exact beak disorder as this chick....I took that chick and one other chick and put them in a small pen together so as to have company but not to much company and it had no problem eating like that of course not any competition for food this way and he had no problem he is now four years old and still doing great living down at my pond with all the other geese. Domestic and wild (they like my pond to)....its just the luck of the draw they either have the will to live or give up...it may not work in this case but thought since I had kinda been through this I would share. yes for it to be able to get the feed it needs to be a little thick so to speak so it doesn't have to work as hard to eat until it learns how to work its beak. GOOD LUCK.

I've gotten a few with crossed beaks over the years,, some with even worse conditions than yours,, one was so bad it was nearly 90 degrees sideways from the lower beak... i am happy to say that they all lived to a ripe old age,, even in my fairly competive flock,,, as long as there is always enough food they "should" do fine as an alternative you can also resort to beak trimming to help

Our cross-beaked little girl died this winter. R.I.P. Chrissy.

What I would have done differently is: made her wear a rubber band kind of brace at bed time while she grew to straighten out her beak-- like braces.
