Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Hi all, another question for you, I have 3 eggs in my incubator and it is day 14 today. One of the eggs is from one of my pullets. It is smaller than the other 2 because of the pullet's age. Is it safe for the chick, can she hatch from the smaller egg? I really hope I didn't make a mistake putting that egg in the incubator.

Generally, you don't want to incubate new layer eggs for this reason, they usually make it out ok but there's a little more going against it.
Ok, thank you.
The egg can still hatch. It is probable that you will need to assist in the zipping process if the egg is too small. This article is very good at explaining how and when to assist Article 'Guide to Assisted Hatching for All Poultry'. Happy to help if you have any more questions.
I can do that. Thanks for the link!
