Can too much lettuce give chickend diahrreah?

Thanx to a friend in the produce business, we get cases of his throwaways. We feed the grain as usual, day old bread and LOTS of lettuce, broccoli, squash, potatoes or what ever he gives us. We figured by throwing it all out , it would attract bugs and worms that the girls can eat as well. However, We have been getting som RI Reds with diahrreah. We treated with Sulmet, but I am still seeing and hearing slpats!
Please help!

I've read some other comments that said too much lettuce can cause diarrhea. We give our chickens lettuce, but in limited amounts - less than 10% of the feed they would eat in a day. At that level it doesn't seem to bother them.
