CAN want ads still be placed on BYC?

I went to appropriate area(I thought) and read the blah blah blah and it said how to 'agree" but theres no "start new thread" thing. Maybe my puter is constipated and not bringing up all info and I am obviously not a rocket scientist(as I could NOT find anywhere to post)Any help PLEASE? TY!

I think if I am not mistaken you have to have a certin amount of posts in order to post sale or want ads.

You do have to have 20 posts; obviously chooniecat has enough, and should be able to post an ad. Those instructions that you have to agree also say by placing an ad, you are agreeing. You shouldn't have any trouble placing an ad.

There are some links at the end of the directions/rules that help explain how the system works, how to post an auction, etc. Maybe you can figure out what's going on if you click on the links below "more information."

You can always come back here and ask again if it still makes no sense to you.

I have been banned is all I can come up with. "create new classified" doesn't come up for me and "thread locked" is all I see at bottom. My mind can't grasp this stuff but......

If you are seeing "thread locked," it sounds like you are trying to edit a thread that's already there.


This is what you should see to create a new thread -- if you are placing an ad to sell eggs. You can see the "create a new classified" blue bar just below the BST chicken Hatching Eggs. This is the "create a new thread" function for this section. (You should be able to click on this image to enlarge it, or hold ctrl then type the "plus.")

If you were banned, you wouldn't be posting here. I'm no computer geek either, and sometimes I wade through new stuff a bit myself.

OK. I believe the simple answer is place WANT ads under "everything else"? I will keep my day job-TY.

No, wanted ads go in any section -- eggs, chicks, etc. The next field after clicking "place a new classified" is to choose "wanted" from a dropdown menu.

It sounds like you may be in the BST archives, rather than the active part of the BST forum, where you choose hatching eggs, chicks, etc. The BST rules are in the archives. You need to navigate away from the archives, then choose eggs, chicks, or whatever. There is no "start a new classified" blue bar in the archives, and members are not allowed to post in the archives. I think perhaps I should have picked up on your clues sooner!

Well yes I do-and I got an ad put under "everything else" ,which isn't where a "want of a roo goes". I can probably just get on CL but my mind tells me its safer here(and not true, I am sure but...Thanks again Flockwatcher for being patient.
