My chickens have a run that they go into but it's not connected to their coop so we have to haul them over there, hey keeps them friendly we 'talk' and pet them while we walk over... (no were not crazy..
) anyways our weather is garbage... it's cold, rainy heck i don't think the sun exists we haven't seen it in days...
Now the run is quite protected it's placed beside cedars that tower into the sky on the one entire side, i have shade cloth over one end too, they have a small wooden box that they can go into but usually prefer to sit on...
now you see where i am going, how do i determine when they go out? I mainly have ducks so if it's wet/flooded they don't care if anything they are thrilled, chickens i know are not so fond of the idea... that said i hate having them 'cooped up' i keep an eye and watch for their behaviour and bring them in if they are only hiding in their box but i guess i'd prefer having a bit more knowledge on when chickens should go out and when the weather is too bad to go...
Thanks for reading my novel lol
