... figure out a way to refer to chicks other than "my babies?" We aren't chicken 'mothers' or 'fathers', we are chicken 'owners.'

Except for the chicks from my millie trio, which I call my 'grandchicks'.

I may not be their parent, but I'm a foster mom and I love my chickers!!!

I hear ya Poulets. I grew up in a house where the dogs were considered equal (and in some cases more important). I have 2 dogs, I love them dearly, and they are very well cared for; but I have never and will never refer to them as "my babies". I have three children and they are worlds more important to me. I get that with some it's just a figure of speech but that particular one looses it cuteness when the animal takes precidence over the children.
