Can you add chicks to a mother hen with already one chick?

My hen hatched 2 eggs about 2 weeks ago. Sadly one of them was eaten.

I was wondering if you can add more chicks with the mother hen or will she reject them?

You can sneak them under the hen at night when she won't see them and peck at them,but you should check to see if she does accept them.

Do you mean that the hen ate them?

Did the hen eat the other chick? I think at two weeks past hatching, she isn't going to accept a new batch of chicks. I would not even attempt it.

no the mother did not eat the chick an owl did, I think.
