I have a little baby that I had to help hatch this morning. My humidity must have been too low and she got stuck in the shell. I got her out without problems but she still has a lot of gunk on her down. Can I take a warm wash rag and wipe her off or will she be ok if I leave it alone?

I bathed a day old once, because his wing was stuck to his head with gunk. DM helped, and we tried our best to get all the nasties off, and he was just fine. I didnt dip him in the water, I kept the faucet running and put his body under it w/o submerging his head and when I was done I put him back in the brooder so he could dry off. His wing was stuck so bad that I thought he was deformed . His name is Quasimodo.

Her back is the only part that is too bad. Poor girl has a couple bald spots too where her fuzz got pulled off struggling to get out. One on top of her head, on her leg, and one on her back. I think I did the one on her head popping the top of the egg but she did the other two. I say she because I attempted to feather sex them. I think I got two girls and two boys. I banded the boys with blue zip ties. We will see how accurate it/I am as they get older. By looking at the tips of the wings you can definitely see a difference between the supposed boys and girls.
