This hatch of chicken has scared me one too many times. 3 of the 12 chicks seem to like to lay on their backs and sleep. I am forever going in and thinking they've died. I've never seen anything like it.

I'm convinced that's what mine will do since I'm already worried and they aren't even here. I'll probably ruin any sleep they try to get.

When I was a baby, just adopted, my Mom woke me up so much to make sure I was alive that she broke me of sleeping through the night in a week! I think I'll do the same thing to chickens.

I have a little White Crested Polish who is continually falling over on her back when she tries to preen her feathers. She will lay there and peep loudly until I come put her upright. I have even heard her in the middle of the night and had to come to her rescue! She is a week old now and she hasn't done it for a couple of days thank heavens! I hope shes outgrown it!

I have never seen a chick sleep on its back, that is just too funny.
