i was wondering if anyone hade any ideas for toys to play with when im not at home i have a perch but thats it.

Alright I have never thought about toys for my chickens before that is a good
one I'll have to admit as the only time I've seen birds play with toys is at a
carnival and they would put little outfit's on them also

I guess for the most part if you do not mind the mess put some paper and just
a little and they will have it shredded by the time you get home from school

Or some leaves in the yard to scratch around in

Get a bowl of worm and put them on the ground and watch your chickens have fun

I am not sure what chickens might play with, but they can still be entertained with things like hanging cabbages, hanging apples, pecking seed blocks, ect. There is a thing on the market, it is a small plastic ball that you load with seeds. As they roll it, the seeds come out.

Chickens also like to climb on ladders and other areas that might be high up.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy BYC!

Personally, and from hearing others, a "Flock Block" Is a great treat for chickens to mess with, and eat. They are cheap, and last for a long time.

thank you for all your answers they were very helpfull i thnk im going to hand food as my chicks love to jump around a lot , lol!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Leaves, bales or flakes of hay/straw for them to scratch around in (throw a little scratch in the pile) usually keeps them entertained for awhile.
