Can you cut the claws on a rabbit

Yes, the rabbit's nails should be trimmed on a regular basis. You can trim them like you would trim a cat's nails.

Fair warning..even though you clip, you will still get scratch. We had a house bunny for 7 yrs..trimmed his nails, but when he got excited you got scratched, no getting around it.

We had a house bunny for 8 years. Best way I found was to slip a loose man's athletic (tube) sock or similar over the bunny's head so he "freezes" and doesn't move. Then roll him in a towel a take out one leg at a time to clip. (Keeps them from jerking when you clip.)

For claws that are very long, it works best to use people nail clippers and clip the nail from the side, if that makes sense. Their claws are flat on the sides, so hold the clippers so that it clips across the sides rather than across the top. Also, make sure you don't take too much or you'll clip the nail root and it will bleed. Usually you can see it in the light, a darker mass toward the toe inside the nail.

I second the rolling in a towel! I have 2 house bunnies and neither of them cooperate at ALL for nail trimmings. Just make sure to be quick so they don't get overheated or suffocate LOL!
