can you eat eggs with pine tar on them?

Keep up the treatment, they'll tire of the taste. We've used it on our roo (when the girls were picking at his comb) and on our turkey toms (when they were jakes and sparring incessantly). Pine tar didn't kill the turkeys and they did quit biting one another when they sparred.

Good luck!

hey chute, i have a similar problem. not lost any hens yet but, two are picking on 3. so the advice to remove the aggressor or the victim, either way, cuts my flock.

they are pecking the same areas as you describe, backside / back.

mine are all 8 months old and all lay an egg a day. they were doing fine until mid winter then i noticed the pecking.

reduced the amount of light. then switched to a red light.
just applied pine tar today.

good luck, let us know if your problem goes away~
