Yea thats what I was thinking, how long can a chicken survive in the wild, we have a time protecting them let alone when they have no fence no coop no roost even, I doubt chicken would live longer than a week unless its in a urban setting
I have had or know of instances when game hens survived for up two years without any imputes or protection form humans. Not only did they survive these hens absolutely thrived on their own. Two of these hens were recaptured and I think that the third became predator scat.
All 3 of the surviving hens survived in a wilderness setting and not even in hearing of a human habitation. There are fewer IMHO predators in a wilderness setting than there is in a urban or suburban setting.
Seriously that pom pom on top of it's head drive me crazy. I like CLB's but those feather on the back of their head
I wish I could breed that away so I could have a blue egger would be super. Yes, you can eat polish but not much meat on that bird.
