I know, probably not but I wanted to brag...

I went and bought THREE bags of Dumor Chick Starter for $5 A bag!

Originally $14.99 (I believe)!!!

The bags were a little torn, but no missing goodies! Maybe a few crumbs! BOO YAH!

We have enough chick feed to have a few thousands... (okay, I'm kidding lol but a lot) so we should get more chickies, no?

Mahonri is right it does have enough calcium and its not formulated for laying hens

Yes, I can feed my chickens chick starter, and it's just fine for them! If you have a broody, I'd feed her chick starter because it's so high in protein!

I feed a non-medicated 21% protein Starter/ Grower to all my birds all year round..
As far as it not have "enough calcium" if your going to offer oyster shells or other type of calcium source to them what makes a difference what the calcium percentage is?
I do also add a good Vitamin mix Nutra-Glo to there water but that is only because I do hatch eggs and don't feel the need to go out and buy a Breeder feed..

Starter/ Grower-
Crude Protein (Min.) 21%
Lysine (Min.) 1.20%
Methionine (Min.) 0.50%
Crude Fat (Min.) 3.0% Crude Fiber (Max.) 4.0%
Calcium (Ca) (Min.) 0.7% Calcium (Ca) (Max.) 1.2%
phosphorus P (Min.) 0.7%
Salt (NaCl) (Min.) 0.2% Salt (NaCl) (Max.) 0.7%

Layer-
Crude Protein (Min.) 20.00%
Lysine 1.00%
Methionine (Min.) 0.40%
Crude Fat (Min.) 3.00% Crude Fiber (Max.) 5.00%
Calcium (Ca) (Min.) 3.00% Calcium (Ca) (Max.) 4.00%
phosphorus P (P) (Min.) 0.90%
Salt (NaCl) (Min.) 0.30% Salt (NaCl) (Max.) 0.80%

I would buy it in a new york minute. I would blend it with the layer feed and sprinkle a little crushed oyster shell on top, or a handful of crushed eggshells on top.
