You are probably not ready for this answer but I feed raw meat to mine fairly often. Not just from the kitchen either. If they can, chickens love to catch mice, frogs, small snakes, lizards, practically anything that moves. I haven’t seen it but some people post that their chickens hunt and eat small songbirds trapped in the coop or run. Some people say they pick up road kill and toss that in the run. Chickens are omnivores and eat meat. It doesn’t matter if it is raw or cooked.
When I butcher my chickens I have a special bucket for “chicken parts” that will be fed back to the flock. I won’t mention what goes in that bucket. When I trap a mouse I kill it and give that to them to eat. They love to play keep-away with a mouse. Yesterday I caught a large rat. I opened it up so they could get to the parts inside and tossed that in the run. Mine seem to like fresh frog more than anything else but a small snake can really please them too.
I think that is a fair question. As long as it is not rotting it should be safe to eat. And the eggs are safe to use.
