Hi everyone,
My chicks are now about 9 weeks old and are still on starter crumbles, b/c I cannot for the life of me find any grower pellets or crumbles anywhere. All the feed stores around me have chick starter/grower crumbles, meatbird crumbles, and then have the all flock pellets and layer pellets, so I guess that all flock is what I should feed them since they aren't supposed to have the layer pellets yet? Please help!

Yes - all flock is a great choice for your situation. Even once they reach the age for layer pellet you can opt to continue with all flock and offer supplemental calcium through oyster shell.....very beneficial in situations where you have a mixed flock (gender, age, etc) for which layer pellet would not be the most suitable choice.

Thank you so much for your help!! I'm heading to the feed store now.

I have a question about this as well... if I choose an all flock feed and offer oyster shells or egg shells for calcium for the hens, will they be the only ones who eat it? Will I have to worry about the little ones or the cockerels eating it?
