We got a huge box of lettuce leaves from Save Mart (for 99 cents!). The leaves actually look good enough for us to eat! Most of the leaves are green leaf lettuce. I gave some to my neighbor and some to the guinea pig but still have lots. I have given the chickens two helpings yesterday and one today. They eat it all gone.

But can I give them too much?

Nope. They will be fine.

They may experience a few days of "squishy poops", but it would be nothing to worry about.

ETA: I wouldnt rely on the lettuce for their only food though.

I went out to the chicken yard and took a poll among my chooks, asking them your question.

100% of the hens and roosters in my yard say that "NO" you cannot feed your chickens too much lettuce. (Can you tell that my birds love the lettuce I give them from my garden?)
