I’m so worried about this poor girl. History: for some unknown reason, she started tearing apart her neck two weeks ago. I isolated her right away, bathed her and put pain free polysporin on her. The neck morning, her deep cut on her neck went from 3.4 cm to easily over an inch long, full thickness. Bathed her again and got some vetrycyn spray. She scratched so hard she was shooting blood everywhere. Calmed her down, and the next morning she’d given herself another almost inch long full thickness cut on the opposite side of her neck, and started opening up the top of her scalp, too. I called the vet, she advised I dress in in manuka honey and put a wrap around her neck. That wrap made it so much worse!! I ended up taking it off she was so panicked and frantic to get it off. Kept trying, then talked to a farmer that advised bag balm and a soft washcloth taped over it. I swear she almost killed herself trying to get it off. I ended up removing it overnight as I was sure I’d wake up to her with a broken neck. Her wounds were truly awful!!! I left her alone the next day and it looked very slightly better because she wasn’t scratching it so much. I’ve been closely monitoring for the last week and although she seemed weak and clearly isn’t growing as quickly as the others, she seemed to be improving and wounds closing. She’s been active and social with my young son and isolated but visiting her siblings (outside) during the day. I really thought she was getting better, but she’s started to have extremely watery projectile diarrhea about an hour ago (that’s when we first witnessed it). I’ve since put her on puppy pads to monitor and she’s having frequent, nearly pure water poops. She’s looking more pale, and puffed up, which I know can be a sign of coccidiosis, but her poops look nothing like what Google show. She’s been on medicated feed from the start, as advised by the breeder, and has been getting electrolytes the last 48 hrs (which really seemed to perk her up!). I’m just at a loss for what I can do. I’m in rural Canada too, so stores are already closed and farm supply won’t be open to tomorrow. I’ve tried offering her other food, scrambled eggs, berries, bugs, etc over the last two weeks but she won’t eat anything else. Help!
