D clinic called me early and asked if I could come in early. Ride company didn’t have me scheduled for pick up, so I drove into town. I’m at D now reading this book I bought from TSC yesterday View attachment 4288104
Melissa is a great lady... she helped me early on when we started our first backyard chickens many yrs ago 🩷

I’ll try to convince my dad. He just really doesn’t care.
Although, he’s going on a business trip for the week, so I’ll see if I can maybe convince Mom behind his back to either take him someplace to get whatever he needs at a low price, or drop him off at a shelter.
I'm sad you're left alone with these problems. I know how frustrating it all is
I've been stuck for over a year trying to help Oliver. The only person to help when she can, is a full time nurse. Plus she's a rescuer .

I can't understand how uncaring people are for animals. If it was their lives left in such a dreadful state they'd be screaming and crying for help.

It’s 06:55 am PST and I feed the minions at 08:00,
But I really do want to hug my rooster Mr Wyandottey. None of the other roos want hugs, they will hang out near me (but just an arm length away) maybe because they’re Old English Game birds. They have a wild streak in them. Actually, I never thought that I would be raising that breed.
I was talking with a guy at the D clinic who asked me where do I take them for fighting? I started getting angry, but then realized I’m out of my element. There, due to the staff’s nationality, game roosters are for fighting, not for pets. He couldn’t understand why my roos are pets.
I hope they all get very painful piles 😡

Ah. Okay. I was just thinking that he might’ve been hungry enough to attack a Polish, since that’s what the rooster is.
I mean, the cat devoured the tuna and eggs I gave him, and the rooster was attacked a week ago. The cat would’ve already been here for a week, and if he hadn’t eaten, I imagine he would’ve been desperate.
I dunno though. I know close to nothing about cats.
As I have mentioned to you in my last comment, I've had a cat living outside. He's been there around 3 years. He's never bothered my chickens. All he wants is someone to feed him.
So I agree exactly what @BY Bob has said

Melissa has a website. She had been a nurse, lived on Cape Cod, was raising a family, moved again, & was busy writing & expanding her interests. I dialogued w/her in her early days & then her schedule got remarkably busy. She loves her birds & gardens.

I think I will send her a letter, telling her that I appreciated her book.
