Can you finish hatching pipped eggs under a heat lamp?

So I had this broody hen sitting on 7 eggs. Today I checked her around noon and noticed a lifeless looking chick towards the front of the nest, not under mama. I thought it had died and she had pushed it out, so I picked it up and it started to cheep. Then I noticed blood on its head and fuzz on the Brody's beak. I put the chick under her to see what she would do and sure enough, she pecked it, so I moved the poor thing under a heat lamp in my brooder. Later (I wanted to stay and watch her, but I had to take my daughter to piano lessons) I found two more in a similar state. So I am sitting and watching. One more has hatched then, and she pecked it as well but I saved it before any more damage was done.

There are three eggs left, two are pipped and the third is chirping, so they're all viable. Can I take them all at some point, like once they've pipped, and put them under the heat lamp in the brooder?

I put them in a tub, on a rack with a wet towel under the rack, and a thin damp towel draped loosely over the top, under the heat lamp. One of the three has hatched, the third one is pipped (and then some), and the other looks like it could zip at any time. So so far so good! I wish I felt good enough about it to go to bed, though, I'm exhausted!

Hi, I have a similar situation and really don't know what to do. My broody has killed 2 of the chicks that hatched this morning (we think she squashed them). Now we have 2 more eggs that have externally pipped. Is it possible to take them out and hatch them under a heat lamp? We don't want her kill anymore. She's worked so hard to get them to this stage :(

I did this last year with an egg! A late hatcher got shrink wrapped when momma hopped off to be with the rest of the chicks.

Coming in late to this conversation. My mama silky left a pipped egg, cracked half way around to tend to the other chicks. I put the egg back under her. Will this suffocate the chick?
