Hello I am new to hen keeping, I have four, two ex farm chickens about two years old and 2 hybrids about 5 months old.
I believe one or all of them have tapeworm as I’ve been seeing the little wiggling “grain of rice” type segments in the poop and I’m looking in to treating (I’m in the UK)

however I cracked an egg today and there was what looked like a little segment in the egg. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this? Or is it just a normal egg - I know sometimes they have some funny looking bits floating about!

thanks for the help

@Seabee Welcome to BYC. That's not a tapeworm segment in the egg. It appears to be a piece of chalaza which is normal.
You'll need a product containing praziquantel to get rid of the tapeworms. Take a look at equine paste wormers and see what you can find.

Thank you! That’s super reassuring. Is it possible to ever get worm in the egg?
I’ll look for something with praziquantel
