Can you give chickens crushed up egg shell for calcim ?

It wont hurt to have calcium available to chicks too young to lay yet. They may peck at the egg and oyster shells, but won't eat much. They seem to instinctively know to eat calcium when they need it to produce eggs.

Yes, crushed oyster shell is best. Eggshells by themselves is not enough digestible calcium to make new eggshells. You can mix the two if you want.
