Hi all!
We have 6 chicks. 4 are 3 weeks old, 2 are 5 weeks old. I thought anyone could have some fun guessing the gender of our little babies. I know it's early, but let's see if anyone can get them all right. I'll post updates as the weeks go. One is already obvious. The mixed breed chicks are 5 weeks old. The rest 3 weeks old. So here goes.....

Chick #1 (Hershey - partridge cochin)

Chick #2 (Hey Hey - white cochin)

Your only possible pullets are Marshmallow, Hey Hey and Tilly. I am not sure about Tilly being a pullet, because "she" has larger white stripes in her barring, which is typical of Barred Rock males, but since she is a cross, I don't know if this applies to her. Do you have pictures of her parents?

Here's a picture of their dad. He's a bantam barred rock. We aren't sure who mom is. We have a mixed flock. Possible mom breeds are Australorp, Columbian Wyandotte, faverolles, lavender orpington, or new Hampshire red.

My Good Lord that is a beautiful BR. Did you get this from a private breeder?

So here's an update for anyone following. They are all doing well and my guesses are staying to same so far. 2 pullets and 4 roos. The one obvious roo (Deputy) started trying to crow, lol. It was too funny. Here's some pics.

I am no expert by ANY means, but Im going to guess that Crackers is be a rooster! His comb seems a lot darker that the others his/her age! Best of luck to yal!

I agree! His comb is a lot darker in the pic than in person, but he acts like a roo and the pink just keeps spreading up his comb. The only 2, I think are pullets are tilly and Marshmallow. I'll post pics again in a week or 2. Thanks for the comments..... :D
