They all came from the same flock. I hatched them in an incubater and the people that gave them to me are friends of my mothers. its actually their neighbors who have the chickens and when i called to ask what breed of chickens they were all the man said was is he only knew that they were road island red hens but he didnt know what the rooster was....they dont look like road island red chicks to me LOL...Most likley they are barn yard mixes but i would like to try to figure out what they are....the black one looks similar to my barred rock chicks but without the spot ...and in the last picture if you can tell the yellow chick has a few black spots on it...any guesses welcome!! thanks!

i dont know but thosee are some cute mixed chickies

I don't believe they could come from the same hen...the chipmunk pattern one is an EE, u can see the muffs and greenish legs. I believe the black one is a BSL, and the white with spots is either a California White or an Austra White.

Did you hatch the eggs yourself? and were the eggs all the same color?

The OP did not say they came from the same hen, that they are the offspring of the same flock. The OP also hatched them.

I see some pretty mixed chicks. I doubt there is any RIR in them though!

No i am sure they didnt all come from the same hen....heres what i know. A friend of my mothers knew i was looking for some eggs to hatch and her neighbor has chickens so she got me a dozen eggs from her flock. they were all a light brown color egg...some had speckles on them. 5 of them hatched but one died shortly after. I incubated them myself. They all came from the same flock. I thought the striped one looked like an easter egger too and i thought the yellow one looked like a white leghorn...i had also thought maybe the spotted one was a california white but had no clue on the black one...I called the lady that got them for me but her husband answered the phone and he told me that all he knew was that his neighbors had road island red hens....but anyway i am hoping they are all pullets LOL...Thanks for your responses!

No I didn't think so either, that would have been pretty freaky.

I was thinking the same as you, the little one in the front is screaming EE. If the black one is a BSL, which I agree with you on that too, then it's a boy. Not sure what the little yellow ones are.

My original post was kind of like..... "WHAT! No way!" Well except for EE's, they can throw out some different looking chicks, but not that different, none that I've ever seen anyway.

Yeah i was really suprised at the variety. I was expecting the same breed or the same breed mixes LOL
