I found Daphne, a 3.5 year old Red Sex Link dead in the run today. No injuries. For about the last 7-10 days she has been coming and hanging out by the house, just lying next to the patio door. The birds are always around the house (the food comes from there!) so I didn't think much of it, but once I saw her lying on the deck instead of standing, I gave her a good once over. No bugs, no injuries, no nothing. I gave her a treat and she ate it. So today I found her just dead and my daughter said that she had picked her up yesterday and noticed that she felt really really light, as though she had lost weight.
Any ideas? The other 16 in the flock look healthy and are acting perfectly normal, but I just want to make sure I shouldn't treat for something.
Daphne was a sweet girl.
