I wasn't saying he was one of those, just observing because I doubt there are many of them around, and probably one of those varieties only found in the UK or Europe. Like the Chocolate Orps. Would to have some of those!
How lucky are we?
Minniechickmama, why cant we get some of the Euro birdies? Nobody stocks them around here? Figured everything was available on the Internet
for one thing you have to deal with permits and quarantines and so forth if you are going to bring birds in. I am not saying people don't but it sure has got to be a pain in the neck. I do know some people get eggs and bring them back if they are going to Europe to get better strains of some breeds. That is an option, but I think it is a logistics thing. I see some breeds I would love to have and they are only in the UK or Europe, but how much is it worth to me to go over and get some chickens? Not enough to but a ticket for that purpose. Some have done it, so it is possible. The Jaerhons didn't exist in the US until I think 1998, and they are still rare here, but they are a Norwegian breed that seems to be pretty prevalent over there.
I hope this answers your question, David.
