Hmmmm, the head pattern is very similar but you can see how striking the colors are and their heads are shaped like malays but the rest isn't. Their is just a tiny fine line of choco brown fuzz running down the leg of each birds. It may not even show up as feathering but in a pure malay, shouldn't show up at all since they don't have it. Seems if it were cochin or brahama, they'd have heavier fuzzing on feet/legs. Langshans, I might could get as they don't have tons of feathering, they just have it. Do brahmas have coal black legs in the dark brahma standard?

No they have yellow legs... I'm not an expert in genetics obviously lol but if it was mixed couldn't it have been modified

So maybe a Malay Langshan cross or a long line of mutt birds and he's swindling people but he has good feedback just not alot of people following up on hatch rates and what chicks look like.

Does the seller know you go on BYC forum and over 80,000 chickeners are reading about your "mixed chicks,?" When I first saw the pics. I thought those aren't chickens they must be English sparrows. I've never seen head markings like that. I know lots of people(sellers of anything) that are fine as long as you have no complaints. As soon as you do their real "character" emerges.

I noticed there are 2-3 other people who have bought the same type of eggs. If you look through the feedback it gives you the names/user ids. I would maybe contact them and see if theirs have funded into anything unusual?

I did send them a message that I had posted some pics (which is my right since I bought and paid and they my birds) asking what mix they might be. We are working on a recourse - either a refund or pure eggs (which would be a gamble for me). I've bought other breed eggs from them with no problems. I understand things happen and it could just be an accidental thing but we gotta work it out and I'm waiting to see what they think is fair for both of us since I've been a repeat buyer from them. I did see those listed on Ebay with dark legs. I don't know what those are REALLY. Could be the guy just has no idea someone sold him mixed chickens and now he's selling them and doesn't realize there is an APA breed standard....at least I'd like to think that but it's also up to us the buyers to know the breed standard of course we can't tell what genes are inside the egg til it hatches lol, it's all a gamble on Ebay.
