Can you keep Turkeys with Guinea fowl?

I posted this in both Turkey and Guinea threads,

but can you keep them as poults and keets together in the same brooder until they are feathered and ready for the outside?

I know Turkeys have issues with blackhead with chickens, didnt know if they have any issues being with guinea?

I do but am not sure if you should. I have had no problems though. I don't have a lot of turkeys, but they live with my chickens; my turkey hen is brooding a bunch of poults and chicks right now in my garage that I hatched in the incubator. She is NOT a great mom, but insistent so I am leaving her to it. So far the 6 poults have survived which is amazing as they are not too bright at babies. She is very patient and tolerant, and it's her first brood. I think I could take those away and give her 20 new chicks and she would be clueless and raise them too. The turkeys are usually much calmer than the guinea keets, so handle the guineas as much as you can. Good luck.

How long have you kept them all intogether?

The Guinea I don't need to be super friendly because they are basically on tick control, they won't be staying inside an eclosure at all.

The turkey's I will be raising for meat, and will most likely have a small enclosure for them at night.

guineas are just plain mean, they are always kicking butt on someone, they should stay penned up away from other birds! they slow breeding down and they also slow down the laying down! seperate penned away from other birds!! tom!!

I keep guineas n with my other birds and don't have issues...I get plenty of eggs and all that. Don't have any turkeys though. have friends that have put them togehter and not had issues

Well I am not looking to keep them inside together when they are old. Just in a brooder and until they are fully feathered

i raise mine together and no problems! My guineas hang out more with the turkeys then the chickens!
