Can you make Mottled Silkies from scratch?

Is it possible to make mottled silkies from scratch? If so, how?

I have blacks, whites, splashes, and paints. Could I use any of those to create a Mottled line?

You'd need to mix in some other breed that has the Mottling gene in it, something like a Bantam Cochin and then cross breed until you have the silkie type + color + feather type you desire
