Hey everyone, this is my first post. Anywho, is it possible to make your bloodmeal from the blood collected from processing chickens? I would imagine the blood from 100 chickens would have to be useful somehow. Also, what kind of process is used to make bonemeal? Do they just grind up bones?

Edit: Sorry this is in the wrong forum. I don't see how to delete this.

Did anybody reply to your question about making blood and bone meal? I was wondering the same thing. We need organic blood and bone meal for our garden and we are also about to process our chickens. I was hoping to use the blood and bones from them to make this.

I read online under EHow that you pour the blood and juices from a chicken package onto a cookie sheet and bake it at 375 degrees. I can't remember for how long. But that it dries out and becomes your blood meal. I would imagine that we could use the blood from the chickens to do this.

Also online under EHow is how to dry out the bones and bake them then you smash them up into 1 inch pieces and then blend them in a blender until it is fine powder and that becomes the bone meal. I would think we could also do this with our chickens.

Let me know if you have found out anything else on this. Thanks.
