Can you mix layers and meat birds in the pasture???

I mgiht get some layers and meat birds this summer from Cackle Hatchery and they are going to have seperate coops in the barn but I didn't know if they should have seperate pastures or not.....they will be the same age. Should I just build a tractor for the meat birds or can I put the layers and the meat birds in the run together???

Good question. I was going to let my mixed use girls (and boys) share the coop until those destined for the freezer relocated so to speak.

This is something I'd like to learn more about too . We have JUST gotten into this ... We've got 10 eight week old chicks we are going to keep for eggs and I've just brought home 8 one day old cornish Rocks I hope to be able to put in the freezer if I don't chicken out

I kept mine together for simplicity's sake. They were fine- the meaties hung together for the most part, I think because they were slower
