Can you open the Pullet-Door without waiting for the timer?

Interesting....can you post a picture of the magnet , I really can't visualize a magnet you can hang. LOL

This is what the people at Pullet Shut said, which confused the heck out of me:
Put black electrical tape over it (or something to make it always think it is 'dark'. When you open and close it, it won't do anything else. When you want it to work, take off the black tape/hoodie and it'll open at dawn & close at dark.

Sounds like they are covering the "eye" of the door, to make it not functional. Then are just using the magnet to open it. Uncovering the eye will let the door resume auto opening at dusk and dawn.

I have an Ador...all I have to do, when I want to manually open or close it, is to press the button.

I like the Pullet Shut door because it opens to the right or left and I like the Ador because it has that button. :gig Decisions..decisions....
I would rarely use the automatic timers but would be nice for the times I do need it.

I don't understand the purpose of an automatic door, if you don't use it as an automatic door...wouldn't it then just be a pop door that you open and shut, day and night? If so, why spend the money on an automatic door?

The size of my girls helped me decide on the Ador. It has one of the largest openings. I didn't like the left/right swing mount on the pullet shut. We have too much wind for it.

The magnet looks like a big chess pawn. I have a screw on the window next to the door and I just keep the magnet stuck in that screw.

We have a ton of wind too. The door actually handles the wind just fine but I built a little wind block and overhang for the chickens. They don’t like wind in the face 😂

My door slides horizontally. If I sleep in, I don't have angry hens stuck in the coop. Just last night I got home later than I expected. The ladies were in their coop & their door had closed automatically.

Because there's been a few times I needed to stay out late and wished I had an automatic door and a few times in the mornings also.

I watched a few videos trying to see what it looked like but his hand was always blocking it...thanks
My door would be under a lean to so the wind is not an issue.

The Pullet Shut is the largest at 15x11, unless you get the turkey door and I don't want my goose going thru the chicken door.
