Can you overfeed chicks?

They are emptying it in less than a day at half full.
It unfortunately does not have the cover over the tray, I might need to switch out to one of those.

How big is the feeder? Usually they just eat what they need throughout the day

Yes, it does sound like it's time for either a larger feeder or multiple feeders.

I have a couple of these:

A really nice metal feeder with a deep pan, and a giant plastic feeder.

P.S. The TSC 7lb feeder is sort of a lowest common denominator, but it's not expensive and works pretty well.

Six. Five are 3 weeks old, one is 2 weeks old.

No, they are separate at the moment. The six of them are eating a good 2-2.5 cups of crumble the last 3-4 days, allowing for some loss to scaping. No signs of mice or anything.

I think it was wasted feed and that has been addressed.
