I have a pet chicken named "Sweetart" (because either she's in the mood for love, or she will peck you :lol:) But she can NOT stand to be outside of my house, she keep's almost breaking her wings or feet to get in and she will NOT let ANYTHING hold her back from getting in. But the down side is she poop's EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! I hate having to clean up after her almost every five seconds:he, Does anybody know if I can potty train her? :fl:fl:fl:fl:fl

I clicked here hoping for replies with actual instructions or experience, as I saw on another thread recently a poster say that it is possible to toilet train a chicken. However, when asked, they didn't explain how, just said it was online somewhere.

A web search does yield results, the first two hits are posts on this forum.

You'll need a lot of patience. If you're not familiar with "clicker training" I suggest reading up on that first, to understand what you're doing and how it works; you'll find a lot in relation to dogs, though the concept is the same with any animal.

Good luck and please keep us posted if you do decide to train her!

LOL. Once a new-mom co-worker told me (quite seriously) that you CAN potty-train a baby as young as 4-months old! They read about it somewhere! 4-month old babies cant even sit up, so seems dubious and more like the parent is trained to stress over potty training their infant! definitely chuckle-worthy.

As another poster noted, chickens poop in their sleep. Mammals do not do this and seek out a spot to relieve themselves. Birds walk, poop, and keep walking - it just happens whenever/wherever. And if someone has THAT much patience to try to potty train a chicken - they have way more time than the majority of people to invest in such an endeavor.
