Can you put two different kinds of pheasants together? Will they get along?

I recently acquired a single impeyan that is 2 months old, but am worried that he seems lonely. He has twisted legs which I am working on splinting (and I am taking him to the vet on Tuesday) so as a result, he has been living all by himself in an extra large sized dog kennel with plenty of shavings. However, I took him outside today so that he could get out and get some mental stimulation, and he seemed really interested in our chickens. I am wondering if I should get him a buddy? I cannot afford to buy another Impeyan... are there any other types of pheasants that are cheaper with which he could get along? Do you recommend doing this?

Thanks!

I would try to get his legs sorted first before i would put him with any other birds.
They get quiet big so its best if his legs were fixed if it's not to late so as they could support his body weight.
At 2 months old how can you tell its a male ?

Thanks for the response. I am definitely working on his (her/its?) legs; as I said, he (she/it) does have an appointment on Tuesday with the vet. Do you think at some point it would be alright to put him (it) with another pheasant once his (its) legs are all straightened out? I don't know that he (it) is a boy; I just feel weird calling an animal an "it"; however, my little impeyan could very well be a female.
