Well, the sod has really helped with regards to mud AND it makes the girls happy! They love the grass and no longer stand at the run gate and scream at me to let them out of prison.
On the flip side, the sod doesnt seem to like the chickens LOL. It looks like its getting yellow despite the very wet ground. Oh well, the $10 was well spent in the "entertainment" department.

what about a sand base for your run? about 4" thick or so?
