Hello all!
So I had my roo pass away quite some time ago and he was a silkie, now I have an Americana rooster. So I like to hatch my own chicks instead of buying them, I just find it more exciting. So I know you can’t really sex silkies so I never did, I just waited it out. Is it the same with the Americana? So far I hatched a purebred Americana, an Americana mix brown leghorn and a buff Orpington mix Americana so can I sex any of them or do I have to just wait? Thanks!

I can get pictures in morning if needed.

Ameraucana are generally very easy to sex in my experience. Same with Easter Eggers. Will definitely help to have pics though

Pics will help, but I find them to be relatively easy to determine sex.

FYI, 'amerIcana' is an incorrect spelling, often used by hatcheries to trick people into buying EE that resemble but aren't true bred AmerAUcana. Note the spelling.

I don’t have that many pictures of the other two but here are the mixes (orange one circled in red is buff mix and gray one circled in green is brown leghorn mix) (in some pictures they aren’t circled)
They are both 2 1/2 months old

So when sexing them, dose the feathers on there wings not matter? Since they are Americana’s or mixes with Americana in them?
