The Farmer's Meat Business:
One day, The farmer was surfing the web when he found a website that was how to make a profit off meat. The farmer was losing money so he thought this was the perfect idea. That night, he researched animals that had a lot of meat and sold for lots of $$$, but with no luck. The next day, he went to his neighbors house to ask him. His neighbor was in the meat business. He recommended cows, pigs, and chickens. The farmer did not want to sell meat from chickens, because the farmer loved his chickens. His neighbor reassured him that the chickens he sold were ONLY cornish chickens, that were table ready at 6 weeks. The farmer was glad he didn't have to sell the meat of his favorite chickens. The farmer settled on a budget of $500. He went to the wood store and bought lots of wood so he could build fences and a separate coop for his meat birds. This cost him $100. So, after everything was built, he went to the annual farmer's swap meet and bought a herd of 20 cattle, 10 pigs, and a flock of 30 cornish chicks, all the animals cost the farmer $150. He brought them back to his farm and put them in the desired pens. The next day, he went to the local feed store to buy pig feed and meat bird crumbles, as well as, a feather plucker and the for Dummies guides for butchering cows and pigs, this cost him $100. The farmer waited a few weeks, then he harvested 15 of his cornish meat birds. At first he didn't know how to use the chicken plucker and hurt his hand. After a couple quick trips to the hospital, The farmer eventually learned how to use it. His many medical bills cost him $150. After the birds were plucked, he sold 7 of them to a local grocery store for $100 and 5 he sold at the farmer's market for $50. The farmer kept 3 for himself. He read his for Dummies guide for butchering pigs and was able to butcher 3 of them. He sold the most desired cuts, which were the strips of bacon, the pork shoulder, the pork chops, and the pork ribs. He sold 2 pigs worth of meat, but saved 1 for himself. The meat made him $150 richer. By that time, 8 of his cattle and 4 more of his meat birds were ready for harvesting. He butchered the cows and plucked the chickens. He sold all his prepared meat birds and 5 cows worth of meat at the farmer's market. He made $200 off all this. The farmer had not maintained the fences very well, and they were starting to rot. One of his big bulls broke through the fence along with 2 of his cows. He lost $200 worth of meat. The farmer bought more wood and fixed ALL the fences. The wood cost him $150. His business was starting to get popular. His customers told their friends which told their friends, which told there friends, and so on. The farmer had so many requests for meat that he bought 4 more cows, 2 more pigs, and 8 more meat birds. He had to pluck and butcher 3 cows, 9 birds, and 3 pigs for 35 customers. After fulfilling all his customers needs, he earned $350. The farmer was getting stressed out from all these orders coming in. So, he decided to fill 2 more orders for meat, then sell the rest of his live meat animals to his neighbor. He made $90, then sold his live animals for $125. That was the end of the farmer's meat business.
