Makes sense to me. Those don't look like Rouens, and Rouens don't lay in the way you describe. I think you got what you ordered.
So glad to hear that!!! Thanks

Hi everybody~~~
another question came, please help...
these 10 female ducks we ordered from metzer farm, we are waiting them grown up to see how often they lay eggs.we know golden 300 lays everyday.
but two days ago, we saw one of them was standing on another one, “making out”...
is it possible a female duck has this "habit"??? or it's a drake???
make me confused....
When a duck starts laying for the first time, her eggs are often a lot smaller than a duck who has been laying for a while. It can take some time for them to start laying full-sized eggs; it took mine about a month. Here is the first egg my buff duck ever laid. It's no bigger than a large marble!these 10 ducks are getting fat.....really fat compare to our old golden 300..... they have bigger breast, see there is "cleavage" line on the chest... they eat a little but they are fat. i still can't believe they are golden 300,and finally 3 of them start laying eggs recently... but the sizes confuse me
the left three are almost double sized than the right ones. are these ducks same breed???
Are these Rouens? I have a male drake that looks like that one but the female is a lot lighter. When I ordered them through a hatchery whenthey came to the store, they told me they were the GOlden 300's th at I had ordered but we still had to come pare them all to see if they were boy or girl ducklings! I got 2 males & 2 females. I sold one male as he got very agressive. THe one I kept looks like this male in your picture here but the female isn't as dark. Now 2 of t hier thier 3 babies are very dark but one has a mottled bill...HELP!Oh geez!! Sorry! I've been using voice to text and I bet everytime I've said rouen it has spelled it ruin!!!!! LMBO! Yes, I know they were supposed to to be golden 300s. I guess I should have explained myself more! What I meant was rouen ducks from what I understand look like mallards only bigger and if mine are mallards, which I'm pretty positive they are, yours look mine only bigger so to me they look like female rouens. Sorry for the confusion! I actually typed this time! Lol Here is a picture of my male and female and one of them with my pekin to compare size. (I finally got my pictures to upload! Yay!)![]()

These are my supposidly Golden 300's. But are they a Rouen? Thier babies are really dark chocolate brown or solid yellow or yellow with a black head and tail.
