I am really hoping not as this is my only Sussex and I really wanted this breed in my small flock of girls! Her (trying to stay hopeful) name is Cricket and she is 7 weeks old today.

Thanks so much,

Holli

I have one Speckled Sussex cockerel and one pullet, IF I was a betting man I'd say cockerel.
However, I have some Black Orp chicks that are near the same size and developement and I still can just guess. Nice looking young bird, good luck with him.

Im never good at this whole "look at my frizzly chick and tell me what it is" stuff. But, I have a 50:50 chance, so Ill take it.

As young as it appears to be, I'd say it is a cockerel from the stark comb development.
