I received these pullets about a month ago. The person I got them from purchased more than they could handle from Hoover Hatchery and I believe were all Hachery’s choice. He wasn’t sure of the breeds. I am very curious. Thanks for your help.
I think one might be a Starlight Green Egger. She hasn’t started laying yet but she is looking like it could be any day from her comb and wattles. Could the grey one with tan on the neck be a Production Blue? The red one with black on her tail and grey on her bottom is my biggest mystery because of her white earlobes. The dark grey one has no tan ….maybe Sapphire Gem? Someone else mentioned maybe a Jersey Giant 🤷‍♀️

I think your red one with black on her hackles and tail might be a cinnamon queen. My CQs from Hoovers have rose combs, too. The all grey one I was thinking sapphire gem, also but not sure. If you can see some slivers of gold or copper in her hackles I would say sapphire gem for sure. The grey with some red I think is a Rhode Island blue, which is a production breed, yes. I loved my Rhode Island blue, she was very sweet.

I agree that the red one with black on tail and hackles looks like Cinnamon Queen but what about her earlobes? I have 3 others that look very similar to her except their earlobes aren’t white and their bottoms are tan where hers is more grey 🤷‍♀️.Doesn’t a white earlobe mean white egg or another color but not brown? Or am I wrong on that?

Here is another photo of Lucy showing her more grey bottom and then another photo of my other one that I assume is a Cinnamon Queen with no white earlobes and a more tan bottom. Thoughts on the other one as well would be great!

I see a Red Sexlink. 2 Rhode Island Blues/Production Blues, & 2 Cinnamon Queens(Also a type of Red Sexlink)

I do definitely think she is a cinnamon queen, I think her genetics are just showing different feather colors/patterns. Same with the other one :) My CQs show the same gray fluff in their downy undercoats and more in their plumage some years. But other years they molt and grow in very red. It just is a wash with mixes sometimes! They should lay anywhere from a light beige to tan egg.

See the grey downy undercoats in this molting one? I think in yours her grey color just comes out farther down her whole feather. She is very pretty, that makes for a striking feather! You’ll have to collect some when she molts.

First one looks like an ISA Brown / Golden Comet production breed. The second bird look kind of like a Blue Jersey Giant but likely isn`t should have grey legs. I don` t know about the others. 🙂

Great, thanks!
Welcome! Oh and also, sorry. On your earlobe question. I think her earlobes are spot on for not laying yet. My guess is when the hormones kick in they may redden up a little bit. But her eggs may end up being more on the beige end. My Frenchy’s earlobes have some white in them and her eggs are a bit more beige.

Oh ok….I had no idea that the earlobes change as they mature! Thanks
